The Rhode Island Dental Association (RIDA) is a professional organization of Rhode Island dentists dedicated to the service of the public and advancement of the profession through education, advocacy, and member services.

Our Mission

The Rhode Island Dental Association was founded in Providence on July 2, 1878 by a group of seven dentists.

Today, more than 600 members, representing over 90 percent of all practicing dentists in this state, belong to the Association. We are part of a three-level professional dental organizational structure which includes the American Dental Association - the national organization; the RIDA-a constituent society chartered by the ADA, and seven component dental societies throughout Rhode Island.

The object of the Association is to improve the dental health of the public and to promote the art and science of dentistry.

Becoming A Member

Membership in RIDA means that you are connected with organized dentistry at the local, state and national levels. You can take advantage of services and opportunities not available to non-member dentists! Members are kept informed on topics of interest to Rhode Island dentists through the RIDA Newsletter, and the RIDA web site. In addition, the Association publishes an annual Membership Directory and Resource Guide and offers dental education courses on topics of importance or interest to members.
