Lisa Kane, president and owner of Dental Office Compliance of New England (DOC4NE), assists dental practices in complying with the myriad of regulations and best practices promulgated by State dental boards, OSHA and the CDC. Lisa conducts office walk-throughs; creates customized plans and protocols for dental offices; teaches infection control, medical emergency, and risk management classes; and provides consulting services to help offices improve their quality care and overall efficiency. Prior to forming DOC4NE, she practiced dentistry in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years. Lisa received her DMD from Tufts University School of Medicine and her BS from Brandeis University.

Dr. Linda Edgar was chosen last year to be president-elect of the American Dental Association (ADA). She is the first UW dental graduate to hold the organization’s presidency.

Dr. Edgar, a resident of Federal Way, Wash., was elected during the ADA’s annual House of Delegates meeting in Houston. An ADA member since 1992, she served in the House of Delegates from 2005 to 2018. She also served as the ADA’s Eleventh District trustee and on the ADA’s Council on Dental Practice, Business Innovation Committee, and Budget and Finance Committee.

From 2013 to 2014, she was president of the national Academy of General Dentistry. She was president of the Seattle-King County Dental Society from 2010 to 2011. She practiced privately with her husband, fellow UW dental alumnus Dr. Bryan Edgar, for 27 years in Federal Way before they retired in 2020. Before entering dentistry, Dr. Edgar was a teacher in Auburn, Wash., for 15 years, and she holds a master’s degree in education.
